Railway service should improve

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley made it clear that Railways should run like a commercial service like any other service provider in the country. We have a wide railway network and it is our earnest desire to have a satisfactory sector operating the user friendly methods to make it more service oriented.  No service is provided free and the basic principle on which any commercial establishment is to be run is that consumers must pay for the services they receive. The Indian Railways was facing tough time in the past. As we run the colonial-era railways, we need to improve the infrastructure and phase out the outdated and out modelled engines, rakes and provide much needed impetus into the system to make sure that the shoddy revenue system must go to provide a new lead in railways. The balancing act should be done in a systematic way to make sure we run profit and not incur loss. Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu should make it a point to go hi-tech and keep the derailed system back to its peak.
